Heart ache

For the past weeks, something is very wrong with my heart beat and tingling pain in my chest. Blood pressure is always above 140. What is wrong with me?

Reading this article from Sarawak makes it worst. If you don't mind .... read here.
and some cut & paste from the article .......
THE CHINESE, THEIR HOUSES HAVE NO WINDOWS.

The Chinese. They don’t look out the window. Their houses have no windows.

It is because of three generations of “keeping quiet” that we are in a political quagmire today. My story may not be the same for others, but it is no doubt a story of three generations of political oblivion – a saga of unremitting cultural circumstances that have “trained” us to look the other way - to economic wealth, education and religion. Politics became a dirty word in our home; as Chinese, we were told, we should disengage ourselves completely from this “unproductive” activity.

My story is not uncommon; such is the struggle and saga common to thousands of Malaysian Chinese homes. We are cajoled by our parents to look at bread-and-butter issues. We are told that politics is “not for us”. We are told that our “houses have no windows’”, so we should mind our own business and close the door. We are told that if this country is not good enough, we must get a good education and emigrate.

The Chinese? We are told this is not our home. We have no home. We are the ”Jews of the East”. When trouble starts, we ought to look the other way. If it gets worse, we emigrate. Money talks! So long we have money, some country will take us.

100 years of ignorance.. Is it blissful? No. It is tragic.

Dear Mike,

Maybe you are becoming like me taking a pill a day to keep the hypertension away.

About that article, yes it's down right tragic.

Being part Chinese myself I remember all too well some of the old advice. Canada was the place of choice then should things goes south.

Some of the advices are already not relevant for these era. Some maybe are best taken with pinch of salt. Some are priceless gems and meant to be kept forever.

Granted that we must change our own and children mindsets. We cannot be thinking about wealth but let others control our destiny. Political power is essential.

Hopefully for them, our children and the next generations, will be much better off than we are today.

Go see a doctor.
