Infamous

Penang got into BBC news with the tiger story. Guan Eng oh Guan Eng.........
Conservationists have attacked a Malaysian plan to set up a tiger park on the resort island of Penang.

Wildlife groups say the park would violate the government's pledge to double the population of wild tigers.

Penang's government recently proposed creating a 100 acre (40 hectare) tiger park to attract tourists.

Not to be outdone. The mongolian model got mentioned in India...........
A glamorous, cosmopolitan woman, Altantuya grew up in St Petersburg, spoke Russian, Chinese, Korean and English, moved in elite circles and has been dubbed “a Far Eastern Mata Hari”. She became mistress of a Malaysian political fixer and was allegedly trying to extort money from him at the time of her violent demise.

What a week in bolehland.

What's wrong with Guan Eng?

What those people in power thinking? Having tiger park in Penang? Preventing people from doing their job? Journalist need access to news to do their writing job. They are not writing a novel. Please think first before talking about banning journalist from covering their activities. It would surely backfired.

Law lesson ... be fair

Everyday we learn something new. Me don't know much about law but then again justice not only must be fair but must seem to be fair. How could our learned JC decided on this....
Judicial Commissioner Ridwan Ibrahim ruled in chambers yesterday that Sivakumar could not act for himself.

This is from NST.
..... about Perak DUN speaker Mr Sivakumar.

Sivakumar, who arrived at the High Court building at 9.45am, attempted to speak to Zulqarnain but was given the cold shoulder. Zulqarnain ignored him and entered the courtroom. When approached by Sivakumar in the courtroom, he declined to respond. "You represent me. You should talk to me," Sivakumar told him.

However, when asked by lawyers representing the three independent assemblymen to sit with them, Zulqarnain moved to sit with them, away from lawyers who appeared as "friends of Sivakumar".

Sivakumar confirmed the incident, saying that a friend pointed Zulqarnain to him as the counsel representing him.

"I have never seen him. I don't know who he is. I don't know his name and he has never made any appointment to speak to me. I have so many questions for him," he said. read more here

This is from star.
Earlier, Sivakumar, who was waiting for his case to be called, was seen approaching assistant state legal adviser Zulkarnain Hassan, who had entered the courtroom at about 9.50am, but Zulkarnain avoided speaking to him and was later seen sitting with lawyers acting for the three independents.

A frustrated Sivakumar claimed that he tried to speak with Zulkarnain after friends identified him as his representative.

“But when he (Zulkarnain) came in, he refused to talk to me. I wanted to ask him so many things.

“I don’t even know his name or who he is. I don’t know who is (to be) my lawyer,” said Sivakumar. Read more here

makes me really wonder!!!! where the fair play?

Tsunami

End of 2004 right after Christmas, this tsunami word coming out from my radio while I was driving back to Ipoh. Didn't even realise the significant of this event until the death toll started been announched and updated by the DJ.

Then come the political tsunami about 1 year ago. The after effect is still troubling our political scenario. Recently, Perak state government was toppled and the current administration is still in Limbo.

Now we are in the midst of financial tsunami. Started with the sub-prime loan in US and the domino effect was felt far and wide. banks are broke and even the biggest car maker GM is not a going concern and needed big bailout money.
OMG, when will this end?
pray that all will end well.

Right is wrong

Praying and devotion to god is right.
Stealing is wrong. What a confused devotee!!!!!!

"I stole this because of my devotions," a Kyoto police spokesman quoted Itsuo Abe as saying of the 70 cm, early 17th century statue, which belonged to Kenninji, a Zen temple founded in 1202.

"I like Buddha statues. I took it home and prayed to it every day."

This guy has gone so far out from the truth.
Please don't pray to stolen statue. It's the wrong path.
Take the middle path.
Eradicate suffering.

Broken dreams

Me was still dreaming that the mini budget will provide some life to the construction industry. Somehow this Dr says it so bluntly. It's hurt baby....

Malaysia should not pin all her hopes on the second stimulus package as she braces for the tough economic times ahead, says Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS) Malaysia director general Dr Mahani Zainal Abidin.

“Recovery should not just be confined to the stimulus package. We need other factors as well,” she said after the ISIS International Affairs forum yesterday. read more here

Just as we thinking about balik kampung tanam jagung, this lady has already think outside the box.
We, the cityfolk, must obviously do something to protect ourselves in case of a prolonged downturn that will severely affect our ability to spend even on necessities. Before it is too late, we should be thinking of embarking on agricultural production that may enable us to exchange food with each other.

The Government should come up with more proactive and flexible measures for individuals, especially the cityfolk, to group together and start small agricultural projects. At least for the next two years, they should not be so strict and allow people to start small farms wherever possible. read more here

Easier said than done. Where is the land?

What to do?

We put on our hard hat but no where to go and nothing to do.
No projects no work.
The stimulus plan came and gone.
Now we wait for the so called mini budget.
Oh gotta go out to look for my cheese.

BTW A Kadir Jasin wanna say something ......
The question is have they spent everything in the 2009 Budget and the stimulus package? If they have, what are the projects? Similarly, what has happened to the projects and allocation under the 9th Malaysian Plan?

According to official sources, the money is being spent, citing the case of 14,000 over contracts worth RM500 million awarded to Class F contractors. Read more here
