MIC version of 1Malaysia

This headlines appeared in many newspaper:
The MIC wants at least a 7.4% quota in employment for Indians in government-linked companies (GLC), including in senior managerial and executive positions, party president Datuk Seri S.Samy Vellu said today

he doesn't seem to get it. Najib, please bang his head against the wall. Does he know what it meant by meritocracy? Oh I forgot ...... maybe it's MIC way of doing thing.

AS 1malaysia

Read this news in the star online:
Some 50,000 fresh undergraduates of local public institutions of higher learning will get 100 units of the newly launched Amanah Saham 1Malaysia.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak announced the incentives at the launch of the new trust fund, which has a size of 10 billion units, with each unit going at RM1

To ensure that the units were fairly distributed, Najib said that for the first 30 days of sale (Aug 5 to Sept 3), 50% of the units had been allocated to Bumiputras, 30% to the Chinese, 15% to the Indians and 5% to other races.

Looking at the 8 values of 1Malaysia, me didn't comprehend the reason given for giving those student RM100 just for going into the public U. How about those with good result but couldn't enter due to various reasons?

On the 2nd look, why there is a need for quota? 1Malaysia still need quota?

Maybe this is meant to buy Loyalty. Now me got it.

Goodies

X'mas comes early to Sabah.
We must pray hard that Santa keep his words.

the Prime Minister’s unveiling of the short-term targets for the six National Key Result Areas.......

something caught my eyes.....

> Build 1,500km of roads in Sabah and Sarawak by 2012.
Hopefully he is talking about 5m wide tarred road and not 10ft wide laterite jalan desa.

> Increase clean water supply to cover 90% of Sabah and Sarawak by the end of 2012.
This would be great for all.

> Increase electricity coverage in Sabah and Sarawak to 95% by end of 2012.
Coverage without stable supply? Even KK has regular blackout now. What you expect in the interior.

Collective responsibility

Previously, we always hear that semi-value says the cabinet has approved this and that whenever the rakyat request toll review etc.
Now our DPM asking for sharing of responsibility with rakyat before they even tell us what they are doing to lower the crime rate.

read what he is saying from faraway Uganda.
Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin stressed that while the Government was committed to this effort, the public must play their part as the targets were not 100% in the hands of the minister or the Government.

“For instance, in fighting crime, we can deploy policemen in crime hotspots but there should also be ways for the public to fight crime together,” he added.

Me just wonder what he learn about the street crime in Uganda?

What? safe

Try to understand the way government department works is an art by itself. We must never demand a reasonable service from them. Instead we should learn how to accommodate them to get the wheels turning.
Now they are speaking in term of the KPI and KRA. What they are talking about?

20% reduction in crime......
Most people will only report the crime if their IC or important doc was taken during the incident.

How to measure Street crime index?
I would rather hear that it is safe to walk around or pumping petrol at night.

Tolerance

We learn to tolerate from young. The value of 宽恕 is necessary for the young to tolerate and forgive the mis-conduct of senior. Does the new generation accept this?

Key Result Areas (KRAs) - crime

Nobody takes the street crime lightly. The problem is our government doesn't put their priority right. No police will come to you if you cried out for help while score will turn up to arrest candle light vigil participant.
Snatch thief need to be eradicated, house-break-in must be stopped, street gang ......... to give a sense of safety and security.

The people has been complaining about this but our ministers living in their protected cocoon doesn't feel it. Now we have OTK indicating that the dark side is knocking on his door.... is it real bad out there?

The star reported:
Najib said the number of street crime incidences should not be taken lightly as it contributed 17% to the overall crime index for last year, adding that 72% of such crimes occurred in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang and Johor.

MACC doing PR?

This guy is great. TBH case is still on-going and they already blaming the public. What a joke

Public apathy makes it hard to fight corruption: MACC
read in the star.
Mohd Yusoff said more often than not, bribery among those in high places were not as rampant as those in lower ranks who took bribes to ease their financial burden.

How he come to this conclusion???? Look at those palaces owned by Z and now K. How on earth they get such a roof over their head.

Puduraya

Do you believe what you read about Puduraya? Not me.
This place is cancerous and need major surgery. Not cosmetic work to puduraya. The problem is the surrounding area.
What happen to Plaza Rakyat?
The traffic dispersion plan within the area from Bukit Bintang to Pos besar and Masjid India need review.

Read Star:
THE 30-year-old Puduraya bus terminal in Kuala Lumpur infamous for congestion, pollution and crime will soon be losing its seedy image once it undergoes a facelift that will see it transformed into a modern inner-city terminal with contemporary design and first- class facilities .....
