Tea with Bryan

Met Bryan Sim for tea and seek his advice. It's suppose to be a short appointment but ends up, we have a long conversation.
This warrior is really good at what he is doing. Giving direction to those needed most. Use the map, you won't get lost. No wonder his business is doing well.

Kind of saying ...."We host Sabah"

Poor quality products

Have been staying in UA for a year now. I moved into a brand new apartment but within a year, was having so much trouble with the plumbing fixtures. Most are not made to last long.

The handle of this tap drop off with normal usage. The connection looks flimsy, more like being glued on.

The kitchen gooseneck was rusted from inside and it's handle broken. What kind of material used? No wonder everybody need to filter their water now.

Even the valve handle near the meter has rusted. Don't they test the durability of the product?

plumbing DIY

The wash basin tap start to drip recently. As this looks like a simple task, I think DIY shouldn't be too much of a trouble.

Purchase a grip wrench and screw driver from the neigbourhood hardware store. Dismantling the tap doesn't take much. It's the inner mechanism that is difficult to find as this is not our regular rubber stopper.

It took me a few trip to find the shop that sell this spares and then another trip back to get the correct sizes.

Silver state bad omen

Things does not happen without a purpose. This wall collapses could be a warning to the Perak state government. They should take heed and implement remedial action to prevent further calamities.

Pray

We are praying for our friend Ester. Hopefully she could make a quick recovery after surgery at University Hospital.

On socialism

My friend Ricky send me these:

" .... socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great but when government takes the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed."
~~~ Dr. Rodgers
"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for,that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."
Where the beef?
Sometimes I wonder why government goes into the business? the term is partnership.
Heard some funny thing called pork-barrel in US but here I think we should just ask, where the beef?
This from NST
The public-private partnership became a high impact project to help the country gradually cut down its dependence on beef import.
Simple
Simple courage to rise above the others.
