Food crisis in Sarawak?

This piece of news is disturbing to all of us. With the politician debating over the truth of this, our people are suffering.
We don't care who is right and who is wrong. The most important thing now is how to alleviate their suffering.
How to help them?

Go to Haris for more detail.

read from the star,
The Catholic Church here has sent out an urgent appeal to the public to help little children and adults who are facing acute food shortage in the remote Kapit Division in central Sarawak.

The food shortage in the Kapit Division has worsened and the people have sent out another appeal for immediate help.

The Miri Catholic Church, which has received urgent appeal from the folks there, is urging parishioners and the public to help these people who are living from hand to mouth every day.

The next step is how to prevent such incident from repeating.

Heart ache

For the past weeks, something is very wrong with my heart beat and tingling pain in my chest. Blood pressure is always above 140. What is wrong with me?

Reading this article from Sarawak makes it worst. If you don't mind .... read here.
and some cut & paste from the article .......
THE CHINESE, THEIR HOUSES HAVE NO WINDOWS.

The Chinese. They don’t look out the window. Their houses have no windows.

It is because of three generations of “keeping quiet” that we are in a political quagmire today. My story may not be the same for others, but it is no doubt a story of three generations of political oblivion – a saga of unremitting cultural circumstances that have “trained” us to look the other way - to economic wealth, education and religion. Politics became a dirty word in our home; as Chinese, we were told, we should disengage ourselves completely from this “unproductive” activity.

My story is not uncommon; such is the struggle and saga common to thousands of Malaysian Chinese homes. We are cajoled by our parents to look at bread-and-butter issues. We are told that politics is “not for us”. We are told that our “houses have no windows’”, so we should mind our own business and close the door. We are told that if this country is not good enough, we must get a good education and emigrate.

The Chinese? We are told this is not our home. We have no home. We are the ”Jews of the East”. When trouble starts, we ought to look the other way. If it gets worse, we emigrate. Money talks! So long we have money, some country will take us.

100 years of ignorance.. Is it blissful? No. It is tragic.

This from thestar

THE 1Malaysia Batu Caves Carnival will be organised for the first time by Sri Mahamariamman Devasthanam and the Malaysian Hindu Council.

“Malaysians of all races must not wait for Thaipusam to turn Batu Caves into a carnival ground.

“The grounds of Batu Caves should reverberate to the joyful sounds of a carnival more than once a year,” Batu Caves temple committee chairman Datuk R. Nadarajah said.
