Nowaday, it is nearly impossible to get permission to build temple at new township or housing estate resulting in "illegal" places of worship being set-up above shoplot or at corner of any public space. Having a place to pray at "haphazard" public place is not conducive and at times annoying to the public. But what are the options? Try getting local authorities approval for a place of worship for non-muslim is nearly impossible. Assembly in enclosed space like those above shoplot is more orderly but .... actually without proper planning, this is dangerous in case or fire or emergencies.
Hopefully our PM Najib could help with his 1Malaysia plan to resolve this lack of places for spiritual worship in the major cities. We just hope that the cowhead incident in Shah Alam would just be a reminder for all to resolve this and not the tipping point.

thestarNajib stressed that while the rights of the Malays would be protected, what was entitled for the Chinese, Indians and other races would be given to them as well.
This should not be limited to economics right, spiritual rights should be considered too.also
from thestarMalaysia Indian Youth Council Putra secretary-general Gunaretinam Rajan, who claimed to represent the 48 Hindu families in the area, asked why the residents could not live in peace with each other.
Several of the residents were visibly unhappy with his remark and charged at him, but other residents and enforcement officers stopped them.
